This guide to the new ott releases this week in India covers 26 to 31 October 2026 only — no repeats from last week dressed up as new. Netflix has four of the five headline titles; JioHotstar brings the talk-show episode.
Note: this is the 2021 YouTube series, not the new Season 2 — a comfort rewatch, not fresh episodes.

Dhindora Season 1 — Netflix, 28 October
Bhuvan Bam’s comedy series lands on Netflix on Wednesday 28 October, five years after its 2021 YouTube debut. Directed by Himank Gaur, its 8 episodes follow Bhuvan and his middle-class Delhi family after his father Babloo wins a lottery — then an accident leaves Babloo with memory loss, and the missing ticket and suddenly attentive neighbours turn a windfall into chaos.
The joy of Dhindora was always Bam himself, playing ten characters — Bhuvan, Babloo, Janaki, Bancho, Sameer Fuddi, Titu Mama and more — alongside Gayatri Bhardwaj as Dr. Tara.
Baththa — Netflix, 29 October
The week’s most interesting film arrives on Thursday 29 October. Baththa, written and directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, stars Vijay Sethupathi as Baththavachalam — Baththa — a feared local gangster in 1986 Madras. It released in cinemas on 1 October 2026 and earned a sleeper-hit reputation through word of mouth.
The premise sets it apart from a routine gangster film: eight-year-old Sabhari, played by Master Sai Prithviraj, accidentally locks Baththa inside a school restroom while trying to retrieve a confiscated toy. Trapped and alone, he confronts his past, and an unlikely friendship grows. Lijomol Jose plays Baththa’s wife Kannima.
Koffee With Karan 9, Episode 3 — JioHotstar, 28 October
Wednesday evening also brings the third episode of Koffee With Karan’s ninth and final season, on JioHotstar from 28 October at 7 pm. Host Karan Johar welcomes Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, with Arjun Kapoor as a special guest — a trio whose banter, by the promo’s own evidence, is anything but formal.
The promo teases Karan once stopping talking to both Varun and Janhvi, plus rapid-fire answers, with Arjun as Varun’s go-to person for career and marriage advice.
Friday Double Bill, 30 October: Meethe Mein Kya Hai and Akka
Friday 30 October brings two very different Netflix originals together. Meethe Mein Kya Hai, written and directed by Radhika Bansal, is a Diwali family drama starring Ritwik Bhowmik and Rohini Hattangadi as the grandmother, Nani, whose house hosts the reunion. Across four Diwali days, a daughter’s secret husband, a son’s painful past and a mother’s matchmaking turn the reunion into an emotional rollercoaster.
Akka could hardly be more different. Written and directed by Dharmaraj Shetty and produced by YRF Entertainment, this 1980s-set crime series unfolds in the fictional kingdom of Pernuru, built, governed and protected by generations of women. Keerthy Suresh plays Bhavani and Radhika Apte plays Rudra, whose rivalry threatens Pernuru’s order when an outsider challenges the sisterhood. Tanvi Azmi and Mahesh Manjrekar are also in the cast. Family sweets first, power games after.
How to Plan Your Week
Start Wednesday with Dhindora for laughs, then Koffee With Karan 9 for gossip. Thursday belongs to Baththa. Friday is the double bill: Meethe Mein Kya Hai with the family, Akka after. That rhythm is why a guide to the new ott releases this week beats a bare list — the right order turns five titles into a week of viewing, not a pile of tabs you never open. Note: The Paradise, Lupin Part 4 and Chaar Yaar were last week’s releases, already streaming — see last week’s OTT roundup and DekhoOnly’s OTT News section.
