According to NDTV, the Delhi government is planning to launch a WhatsApp-based bus ticketing system in the national capital on the lines of Delhi Metro. Officials say that the transport department of the city government is working on starting a digital ticketing system for DTC and cluster buses.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) already has a WhatsApp-based ticketing system. The service was launched in May this year and was later expanded to all corridors of the rapid transit system including Gurugram Rapid Metro.
At present, it has not been informed about when this facility of bus ticket booking will start and how will it work, but let us know that passengers have to send ‘Hello’ text on WhatsApp to buy the Delhi Metro ticket through WhatsApp.
After this, the reply will come from WhatsApp. Language will have to be selected along with Reply. Can choose any of Hindi and English. After this, you will get options for ‘Purchase Price Ticket’, ‘Endlast Move Main Points’ and ‘Retrieve Price Ticket’. To buy tickets, one has to choose ‘Purchase Price Ticket’. After this, WhatsApp gives the option to buy tickets on a new page.
UPI option is available for payment. Apart from this, payment can also be made through debit card or credit card, but they have to pay 0.40% and 1.10% extra charge respectively.
