Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst of TF Securities, has stated in a post shared on the social media platform X that Apple’s contract manufacturer Foxconn will start manufacturing this foldable smartphone at the end of the third quarter of this year or at the beginning of the fourth quarter. However, KUO has said that many components including its hinges have not been decided. Samsung displays can be used in foldable iPhone. It has been reported that Samsung is preparing to make 70-80 lakh flexible panels for this.
Kuo has reported that Samsung is expected to order 1.5-2 crore foldable iPhone panels from Apple. This may be to meet the estimated demand of two to three years for this smartphone. A large number of foldable iPhones can be manufactured in the second half of next year. Its price is estimated to be higher and due to this its sales are also likely to be limited. This book-style foldable smartphone of Apple may have a 5.5 outer display and an innar screen of 7.8 inch. In the last few years, sales of foldable smartphones have increased rapidly. Samsung has the highest stake in this segment.
Apple’s iPhone 16 finished first in the international sales of smartphones in the first quarter of the current year. The list of top 10 smartphones in terms of sales in the first quarter includes five iPhone models of Apple. In this list, the iPhone 16, launched last year, got the first rank, iPhone 16 Professional Max is second and iPhone 16 Professional has got the third rank. The iPhone 16 professional models have about half of the total cells of the iPhone in the third consecutive quarter for Apple. In this list, iPhone 16E is ranked sixth and iPhone 16 Plus is ranked 10th.
