This study of the Tech Transparency Project (TTP) expresses concern about the safety of the recommendation system of YouTube and the effect on the good of the young users. Four Test YouTube accounts were created in the study, two of which were identified as nine -year -old boys and two were identified as 14 -year -old boys. These accounts were run like real youth and through them, seeing the gaming playlist, the video game was shown interest.
Researchers analyzed the video for these minor accounts by Elgorithm of YouTube, some of which were on the gaming topic according to the recommendation, but some were completely different and worrying.
YouTube claims that the platform gives responsible recommendations, but this research showed something else. It found that YouTube conveyed shooting and arms related content in all gamer accounts. However, the account which clicked the sage -stamped video was conveyed a lot of content related to guns and shooting. These recommendations included videos such as school firing, ways to convert weapons into automatic weapons and a film about serial killer Jeffrey Dehmar.
Many of these video violates YouTube policy on violence, weapons and child safety. Despite this, it appears that Youtube does not take any action to agitate or remove the video.
