Bloomberg’s Jack Gillum report says that META has detected 400 dangerous apps in Android and iOS app store, which can steal the data of users. The company has also informed both Google and Apple companies about this. “We have shared our conclusions with industry peers, security researchers and policy makers to help improve our collective rescue against this threat,” META said in the statement.
Mark Zuckerberg’s company is also helping Facebook users who want to protect their account. These apps with malware display themselves in the name of attractive features such as photo editing, game enhancement, business tools, VPN hacks etc. The report further states that after Meta alerted Apple and Google, these 400 dangerous apps were removed from their respective online stores.
Meta has said that it will tell the potential victims how they can avoid facing “again attack”. For this, the company is explaining to the users how the problematic apps can be better spotted, which steal credentials for Facebook or other accounts. The company says that the meta system has caused dangerous activity and has also clarified that all 1 million people have been compromised with passwords.
