Workers may be trimmed soon with swiggy

Difficulties are increasing for the food delivery swiggy on the order through the app. The company can trim more than 250 workers this month. In this, workers can be removed from technology, customer service and supply chain divisions. Earlier, Swiggy’s competition was removed by Zomato about three percent of its staff due to poor performance.

A media report quoted sources who are aware of Swiggy as saying that Swiggy wants to reduce the number of workers in all its functions. A consulting firm has been appointed to give advice on the company’s restructuring. Workers can be removed from divisions like technology, engineering and customer service in the trim. Recently, Swiggy had informed the workers to evacuate the workers on the basis of performance. With the help of a consulting firm, Swiggi has started restructuring his teams. Some senior executives have also been promoted. Swargi’s grocery delivery platform is being transferred to other divisions of the company to reduce spending from Instamart.

Last month, e-commerce company Amazon decided to stop its food delivery in the country. The company was getting a tough competition from Swiggy and Zomato in this business. Earlier, Amazon also closed its Edtech unit. The company has informed its restaurant partners to close this service from 29 December.

This unit of the company is called Amazon Meals. Restaurant partners have been assured to fulfill payments and other liabilities related to contracts by 29 December. The letter sent by the company said that the restaurant partners will continue to access the company’s tools and reports by the end of January. “This decision means that you will not get orders from customers through Amazon Food after this date. You will continue to get orders till then and we hope you will fulfill those orders after this date.” Amazon Meals in the country was started from Bengaluru to compete with Swiggy and Zomato and later extended.
