According to a report by WABETAINFO, WhatsApp is working on bringing a chat lock feature to lock the personal chat on the web client and to allow it to keep it behind an extra layer of security. This is helpful when you do not want others to know about a particular conversation. In the leaked photo, a paddalk icon is seen next to the store chat and startd message icon. It is likely that the locks locked will be shown inside this tab and a second layer of security can be added to reach the tab.
However, how will this feature work. There is no report on this, so information about it is not available. However, Passcode, fingerprint and face ID are used as input to unlock Android and iOS counter chats. Authorized methods, including passwords or passwords on the web client, allow users to login with biometrics.
Apart from this, WhatsApp web is also expected to get a new color scheme for a re-designed sidebar and dark theme. An earlier report stated that the color was changed to reduce eye stress in low-light environment, while a new sidebar was added to make the design on all the platforms of the company according to the design.
Whatsapp is also planning many new features for its mobile application. WhatsApp for iOS is allegedly working on adding support for Pasakies, which was earlier added to its Android. All iPhone models running on iOS 17 are expected to support third party access. This means that the new models with iPhone XR or iOS 17 updated will be the only model to activate passki on WhatsApp app.
