Status privacy confirmation on whatsapp
According to WhatsApp beta feature tracker Wabetainfo, the new status privacy confirmation feature of the instant messaging platform is being rolled out on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.27. According to the report, users can see a new window, from which they will be able to choose the contact with which they want to share their status updates.
Gadgets 360 verified the availability of this feature in the second version of WhatsApp beta for Android. It has been claimed that it is currently available for beta testers who install WhatsApp beta through Google Play Store Beta Program. Those who do not have access to this yet are expected to get it in the coming days.
The screenshot has shown that users now have two options while sharing the status update, with the first all contact and the second specific contact. The first option also allows them to exclude some contacts from viewing the status update without changing the settings individually. The feature tracker estimates that this step can donate more control to users in status updates. It is worth noting that this feature was allegedly available on WhatsApp for iOS and the feature tracker claims that it was introduced with the App version 24.10.10.75 via TestFlight Beta Program.
New layout for status update
Information about the rollout of a new UI layout for the status update page was also recently revealed. It is being said that it will be introduced with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.20. According to Leaks, a new and larger thumbnail has been introduced in place of the existing small circular window for status updates. It is estimated that users will be able to see the status update without opening this thumbnail.
