WhatsApp has announced a chatbot for teenage girls in collaboration with the Non-Profit Organization Girls. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is named ‘Bol Behen’ (‘Bol Behen’). With the help of this chatbot, girls will be able to consult about their health. The chatbot is designed in such a way that it guides girls about their breeding health, sexuality and relationship. Apart from English and Hindi, this chatbot can also be discussed in ‘Hinglish’.

The user will have to send ‘HELLO’ on WhatsApp on WhatsApp +91-7304496601 or on its profile on the web. After this, chatbott can be talked to. WhatsApp has said that the new chatbot targets teenage girls and young girls living in the country’s Hindi belt, who usually use limited internet bandwidth smartphone.

It is estimated that this chatbot will reach millions of girls across the country, so that they will be able to know about their health curiosities and concerns. Girl Effect launched Bol Sister Chatbot on Facebook Messenger for the first time in 2020. There it had about one lakh conversations and received 16 lakh messages. This chatbot is inspired by a chatbot called ‘Big Sis’ being used in South Africa.

Kanishka Kabirraj, the country lead of the girl effect in India, said that the technology of WhatsApp gives us an opportunity to have a relationship between girls and their essential health services.
