One on x Post Announcing in, WhatsApp said that iOS users will now be able to log in to their account using face ID, touch ID and passcode. Although the company has not given information about the supported iOS version, an earlier report found that this feature is supported on the iOS 17 and later version. This means that users with iPhone XR models or new models will be able to set a pass for their account.
Passkey is an optional login system, providing better protection than traditional methods such as SMS code. This method uses public key (Key) cryptography designed by fido alliance and supported by tech veterans like Apple, Google and Microsoft. With this, two sets of key are made, one of them stores on the cloud of the platform, while the other lives with the user. For iOS users, the user key will probably be stored on Apple’s Keychain system, which can be triggered using face ID or touch ID. The account will be certified on the matching of both keys.
