Whatsapp Chat Lock Attribute Quickly Prolong to Connected Gadgets


Whatsapp introduced the chat lock feature last year. This feature allows users to keep their chats in a hidden folder which can only be accessed through safe passcode, fingerprint or face ID. Meta introduced this feature to improve security and privacy protection on WhatsApp. Now, social media giants are allegedly trying to extend to devices linked to the chat lock function. It is being said that WhatsApp will bring the feature for the upcoming update linked devices. This update has been seen in the Android beta version 2.24.8.4 of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo claimed that WhatsApp is working on a lock chat feature for the devices linked and will be available in the upcoming updates. Publication has seen about the upcoming feature in the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.8.4 update which is available through Google Play Games beta program.

The lock chat feature is no longer available for testers, but the report includes the preview of the function. According to the shared screenshot, the app will allow users to set the secret code for chat access on the linked device. Chat lock settings> Secret code option will have to be set from the primary device.

WhatsApp launched a new chat lock feature in May 2023 and this feature is currently limited to primary devices. It provides users more control over their private and group chat. The name of the sender will not be seen nor the message preview will not be seen in the notification of the chatted chat. Users can see these hidden chats in a separate locked chat folder, which can only be accessed through passcode, fingerprint and face ID.

META developers are continuously bringing new and upcoming features on WhatsApp through beta channel. It is allegedly working on starting international payment through its in-app Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service. Apart from this, WhatsApp for Android is allegedly getting a new feature to set up the upload quality of the video directly through the settings.
