Whatsapp will stop working on more than 49 smartphones from the new year. A report states that instant messaging apps will stop support for old phones of many brands including Apple, Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei with the beginning of the new year. The platform owned by Meta has been periodically discontinuing WhatsApp support for the device working on the old operating system. Many popular smartphones are also present in the new list.

The list of smartphones has been shared by Gizchina, for which WhatsApp support will be discontinued in the new year. This list includes smartphones of many other brands including Apple iPhones, Samsung, LG, Sony and Huawei. All these smartphones work on the old Android and iOS versions. The list includes more than 49 smartphones. Support for these smartphones will be present only till December 31, 2022, after which WhatsApp will not work on these phones.

As we said, Whatsapp stops support for smartphones working on old operating systems from time to time. Whatsapp has informed on its support page that the app works on Android version 4.1 or new and iOS 12 or new versions. In addition, Kaios 2.5 will support devices with new version from it, such as JioPhone and JioPhone 2 will support this app.

WhatsApp says that “To maintain the latest progress in technology, we regularly stop supporting the old operating system, so that our resources can support the latest (technology). If we stop supporting your operating system, you will be informed to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp.
