In the month of November, i.e. in October, the company banned more than 23 lakh accounts. During this time, WhatsApp had banned a total of 23.24 lakh accounts. Out of 37.16 lakh accounts banned in November, 9.9 lakh accounts were already banned by the company, before users would flag them. Similarly, in October, the company had banned 8.11 lakh accounts before using users.
Under the IT Rule 2021, WhatsApp has said in the November 2021 report that it has banned 37 lakh 16 thousand accounts between 1 November 2022 and 30 November 2022. Of these, 9.9 lakh accounts were banned before the users reported. Indian account is identified with +91 number.
Last year, the government implemented the new IT rules, according to which, digital platforms having more than 5 million users will have to present their public compliance report every month. In this, the platform will have to tell how many complaints he received in a month and what action was taken for him. Things like inflammatory speeches, misinformation and fake news have increased for some time on big social media platforms, due to which the platforms are now taking strict steps for such rumors and misinformation users. WhatsApp has received more complaints against the accounts by users in November than in October. In November, 946 complaints were received on the platform in which an appeal was made to ban 830 accounts. At the same time, the platform took action against 73 accounts in it.
