Prabhjit Singh, president of Uber India and South Asia, said that “With this beginning, we are providing better travel options for tourists and pilgrims as well as starting earning opportunities for many people in the field.” This decision in Ayodhya is part of the Uber’s growth plan in India, as the company currently works in 125 cities across the country. Singh said that “We work to promote trouble -free travel means and promote economic growth with contributing to the tourism of Ayodhya.”
Uber has started testing its flexible pricing service Uber Flex in many Tier 2 and 3 cities in India earlier this month. This facility allows passengers to bid at a particular fair for their ride. Uber Flex was first tested in India in October last year. Now it has been started to Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Surat, Coimbatore, Gwalior, Indore, Aurangabad, Ajmer, Dehradun, Bareilly and other cities.
