TRAI PRISTINE RULE DENY OTPS From DeeCember 1 for Jio Airtel Vodafone Concept BSNL

Along with smartphones and technology, life has become easier, but the danger is also increasing with it. Cybercrime incidents keep coming up in the coming days, in which people’s personal information and money are being looted the most. Now to prevent the threat of spam SMS messages and fishing attacks, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked all telecom providers to implement travequare rules from December 1 from December 1 from December 1, including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Concept (VI) and the government -owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited BSNL.

TRAI’s traceability rules states that all messages of sanders should be detected to prevent misuse of messaging service for spam and fishing. The first telecom regulator had asked providers to implement the rules by 1 October 2024. It was later extended by 1 November and now the last date is fixed on 1 December. In addition to promotional and telemarketing messages, the traceability rules also affect the one-time-password (OTP), which a person uses to reach the app and transfer money/reach the information of his bank account.

Why does TRAI want to implement this new rule:

According to TRAI, unwanted promo messages, which can be kept as spam and fishing attacks by cyber scams are continuously increasing, which should be banned. Regulator has warned that these messages are often used by scammers for personal information of users such as OTPs etc., which are used to reach their bank account and rob money. It may take time to get OTP messages with the new rule. If you are thinking of doing banks or reservation etc. then you can get late OTP for this. Let us tell you that TRAI has taken this step because scammers get access to users’ phones through fake OTP messages and select them heavy.
