Maharashtra Cyber Police has arrested an IT engineer from Hyderabad by Maharashtra Cyber Police for illegally streaming its app including Netflix, High Video, Disney+ Hotstar on its app. This engineer, named Satish Venkateshwarlu, has developed an app called Thop TV, which streams the content of many famous OTT platforms through this app. This type of work is considered illegal and there is a provision of strict punishment for doing so.

Satish Venkateswaralu, who was arrested from Telangana capital Hyderabad on Monday, has been sent to a seven -day police custody by a Mumbai court. The first Viacom 18 Media and some other broadcasters complained to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell that the Thop TV app is streaming their content on their platform without their permission. The complainant said that due to this illegal act of this app, he suffered a big loss in revenue.

After this action, Maharashtra Cyber Cell has come into action and arrested 28 -year -old engineer Satish Venkateshwarlu from Hyderabad. The engineer has been booked under IT Office, 2000 Divisions 43, 66 and 66B, as well as Division 63 of Copyright Office and Division 420 and Division 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Thop TV is about 2 years old app. It was not available on Google Play Games, but it had to be sidelined through the APK available. It was a completely illegal app, as it showed the content of many other OTT platforms including Netflix, High Video, Disney+ Hotstar, VOT on the unpeated platforms without permission of broadcasters.
