Samsung launches Galaxy XCover6 Pro smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro tablet in US – Times of India

Samsung has expanded its rugged portfolio in the US with the launch of the Galaxy XCover6 Pro smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro tablet. As per Samsung, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro are the first devices in their respective series to support the 5G wireless network.
Both devices are built for harsh environments. They are both MIL-STD-810Hii compliant to withstand extreme altitudes, temperatures, vibration and humidity. The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro — including its integrated S Pen — and the Galaxy XCover6 Pro are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy XCover6 Pro will be available in the US on October 20, 2022, through select carriers. Starting later in the month, it will be also offered through,, Amazon Business, IT channel partners and additional carriers.
The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro is available starting today in the US, through, Amazon Business, and Samsung’s tier one and two IT channel partners. The tablet starts at $649.
Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro: Specifications and features
The Galaxy XCover6 Pro display incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, providing scratch and damage resistance, and it can withstand drops of up to 1.5m, as per Samsung.
The device sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT LCD Infinity-V display with 1080 x 2408 pixels resolution. The smartphone comes powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G (4×2.4 GHz, 4×1.8 GHz) chipset coupled with 6GB RAM. It has a native storage of 128GB which can be expanded to up to 1TB via microSD. It runs Android 12.
For imaging duties, there is a 50MP primary rear camera with F1.8 aperture and AF and an 8MP Ultra Wide Camera with F2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 13MP selfie shooter with F2.2 aperture.
When it comes to connectivity, the smartphone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, etc. The smartphone has a battery of 4050mAh (Replaceable) and supports Fast Pogo Charging. It comes with support for Samsung Dex and Samsung Knox.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro: Specifications and features
The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro is built with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and can endure drops of up to 1m, or 1.2m when using the included protective cover.
The tablet features a 10.1-inch WUXGA display with a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution and 550 nits brightness.

It is powered by an octa-core (2.4Ghz / 1.8Ghz) Qualcomm SM7325 chipset and comes in two RAM and storage options: 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The storage can be expanded to 1TB. The device runs Android 12 OS.
For taking photos and videos, the tablet is equipped with a 13MP AF + 8MP camera setup. The device is backed by a 7600mAh replaceable battery. The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro also supports Dex mode.
NFC and mobile Knox platform
The Galaxy XCover6 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro feature near-field communication (NFC) and mobile Knox Platform for POS(Point of Sale), which would find applications in retail businesses. Whether mounted at a cash register or used as a portable point of sale, both devices can help customers with their checkouts.
With Knox Capture, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro can function as “enterprise-grade” barcode scanners for real-time tracking and checking of inventory, as per Samsung. They can also be used with hands-free scanning accessories for use while mounted to a forklift.
