iPhone does a ‘Rajinikanth’, stops a bullet: Here’s what happened – Times of India

An iPhone model has allegedly helped save the life of a Ukrainian soldier by stopping a bullet, as per a report by PhoneArena, based on a video shared on Reddit. The model is an iPhone 11 Pro.
According to the report, when the bullet hit the soldier, his iPhone was in his plate carrier (military bulletproof vest) over the main vest and the bullet hit the phone first. The iPhone took the entire brunt of the damage and the bullet was not able to go past it. There is no knowing whether the military vest would have stopped the bullet as it comes with protective trauma plates but in this case the iPhone took all the credit, saving the soldier’s life. Previously, Russian luxury brand Caviar had launched a Stealth iPhone series. The speciality of this series was that the iPhones had a layer of armour on them that can stop bullets. The Stealth version 2.0 iPhones came protected with BR-2 class 2 bulletproof armor by NPO TCIT that specialises in armoured vehicles and combat helicopters.
The company showcased the test phase of the new iPhones with different pistol shots. It, however, strongly advised people not to try the test themselves. In the video, it can be seen that the iPhone body was able to absorb the full impact of the bullet and received a bullet-shaped deep scratch upon being hit. Also, the display came out of the phone after impact. But the phone did not allow the bullet to pass through. Caviar produced only 99 units of these iPhones with a starting price of $6,370 (around Rs 4,86,540).

However, this was an armoured iPhone that was shown to stop bullets. The latest case is about a normal iPhone 11 Pro model. Should Apple be getting into making military gear now as its phones seem to do more than a swell job when it comes to durability?
