Some of these focus is on direct-to-home connectivity, while some can work in partnership models with service providers.
Although internet plans can be cheap, the user must give a one -time hardware cost. Starlink’s terminal and dish setup ranks $ 250 to $ 380 (about 20,000-30,000 rupees) in the international market. There is no official information on how much this cost will remain in India, but experts believe that it can be made easier through subsidy or EMI model.
At the same time, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has also draped a policy regarding SATCOM spectrum. According to this, spectrum charged operators can be fixed at 4% of AGR (Adjustid Gross Revenue) and will remain valid for 5 years. This will help satellite companies in licensing clearance and cost.
The real target of satellite internet is Rural India, where fiber or mobile network has not yet reached. In such a situation, if unlimited high-speed connectivity is available at a price like Rs 840, then it can prove to be a game-changer.
