In this survey conducted by online survey firm Localcircles from 1 to 20 February, about 95 percent WhatsApp users said that they get one or more spam messages every day. Of these, about 41 percent claimed that they get four or more spam messages. On contacting the Meta, which is owned by WhatsApp, his spokesperson said that WhatsApp has systems that send such messages from which the business sending such messages is suspended after getting feedback from users. He said that if a business gets more negative feedback, then its access can be reduced or removed from WhatsApp.
Localcircles said the findings of the survey show that most of the users of WhatsApp have tools to block such messages but despite this spam messages are being received. This means that those sending such messages are changing their numbers or their number is very high.
Recently, in another survey of Localcircles, it was reported that 16 percent of mobile users get 6-10 spam calls per day, while for about five percent this number is more than 10 calls per day. The survey was conducted between 5 January to 5 February. In this, more than 56,000 answers were received from people from 342 districts. The number of answers for each question of this survey was different. 66 percent of the mobile subscribers involved in the survey had said that they get three or more spam calls per day. Of these, 96 percent of the subscribers had said that they get at least one such call per day.
