According to a media report, the company has a conversation with big manufactures like HP, Acer and Lenovo for this laptop. Quoting a senior executive of Reliance Jio, the report stated that the laptop will be a ‘dumb terminal’ and all its processing and storage functions will be on Jio Cloud Infrastructure. This will reduce the need for expensive hardware and reduce the cost of the laptop. However, a cloud-based computer will require frequent internet connections for storage, processing and other functions.
In this report, the senior executive of Jio has said, “Laptop cost depends on hardware like its memory, processing power and chipset. More capacity of hardware increases the power of battery as well as battery. There are and the entire processing of the laptop will be done on the back end in Jio Cloud. ” Monthly cloud subscription can also be combined with this laptop. It will be like Apple’s iCloud or subscription to Google One. However, pricing for Reliance Jio’s cloud membership will be fixed later. It has been told in this report that this laptop is being tried on HP Chromebook.
Reliance Jio’s 5G FWA (fixed wireless access) based internet service Jio Airfiber’s scope is also being increased. It has also been started in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. Jio Airfiber has reached 115 cities. The installation charge for this is Rs 1,000. However, on taking the annual plan of this service, the installation charge can be abandoned by the company. The plan of Jio Airfiber starts from Rs 599 (except GST) per month. It gets speed and unlimited downloads up to 30 Mbps. In this, users have also been given the option to take six months or annual plan.
