According to NDTV reports, when this sequel shower is on its peak, 60–200 quadrantids per hour appear. Their peak is small because the stream of the meteorites is thin and it crosses the perpendicular perfective.
According to the report, Quadrantids are named after the Quadrance Murlis Planetarium. However, this planetarium has now been removed from the list of recognized constellations.
Will Quadrantids Olka Showel be seen in India?
The Quadrantids Ulka Boochar has started from December 27. It will continue till 16 January 2025. Its peak time will be seen in India on the night of 3 and 4 January.
The report quoted Sumit Srivastava, Senior Scientist Officer of Indira Gandhi Planetarium in Lucknow, that ‘Quadrantids’ will be seen in the city on 3 and 4 January. During this period 80 to 120 meteors can be seen per hour. All this will be seen in the early morning and common people will have to take help of telescope for better visibility. The flour showers are seen when our earth passes through the space debris released by a comet or other astronomical bodies.
