According to India Today, dating apps and Telegram apps have emerged as the biggest weapons for people in the ongoing protests in China. If you do not know, then tell that most of the platforms in China are in the eyes of the government. Social media apps, such as FB, Twitter etc. are banned in the country and instead of these only selected domestic platforms run there. In addition, instead of large search engines like Google or Bing, China’s own search engine is run there.
This is why the protesters began using platforms such as dating apps and telegram used outside the country. The report states that Chinese protesters started uploading photos and videos of anti -government protests on DP of dating apps.
The report further states that Chinese protesters have also started saving videos and photos related to these demonstrations on foreign social media platforms. Protesters are sending messages to code word on social media, in which a hashtag named Hangzhu is also being used, which is actually a city in China. Most of the shows are being performed in this city.
Apart from this, the police are also finding out whether the protesters are posting videos on Twitter using VPN avoiding online censorship.
