Paytm: Pay Paytm users pay attention! Several services of the company’s major service ‘Paytm Payments Bank Limited’ (PPBL) are being closed from today. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had asked Paytm Payments Bank to close all its services last month. Now the customers of Payments Bank will not be able to deposit money in their account. However, there will be facility to withdraw and transfer money. After today, salary credits, direct benefit transfer or subsidy will not be available in Payments Cupboard Account, but refund, cashback and sweep-in facility will continue from partner bank.

These services will be closed from today

  • Paytm Payments Bank customers can no longer deposit money in their accounts, but can be withdrawn or transferred.
  • There will be no salary credit in Paytm Payments Bank accounts from now on. Subsidies will also not come.
  • Paytm Payments Bank users will no longer be able to top-up their wallet. Paytm wallet will not be able to transfer funds. However, the money present in the wallet can be used for payment of bills.
  • Fastag issued by Paytm Bank will not be recharged.
  • The NCMC card will not be recharged from Paytm Payments Bank.
  • Now users will not be able to transfer funds through UPI or IMPS to their Paytm Payments Bank accounts.

Paytm app will continue to work

The Paytm app will continue to work as before. If you do not have Paytm Payments Bank account, then you will not get any hindrance to use Paytm. UPI services will be used on the Paytm app.

Why Paytm Bills Cupboard is being closed

A report said that thousands of accounts in Paytm Payments Bank were opened without proper identity, causing the possibility of illegal activities like money laundering. According to sources, this information was also shared with officials including ED and Prime Minister’s Office.
