Pakistan Executive Reputable X Account Banned In Republic of India on It Ministry Orders Upcoming Pahalgam Terrorist Assault

The Government of India has blocked the official X (first Twitter) account of the Government of Pakistan with access to India. This step is taken after the instructions of the Ministry of Information and Technology. The reason for blocking has not been officially explained, but it is believed that the decision has been taken after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

This X account of the Government of Pakistan runs under the name @govtofpakistan and government announcements and statements are issued. Now on trying to access it in India, the “Account WithHeld” message is visible, which means that it has been blocked only under local regulation, was not completely deleted.

This is not the first time India has blocked any social media account related to Pakistan. Earlier, on several occasions, accounts with government or alleged ‘anti -national content’ of Pakistan have been closed in India. The special thing in this time’s action is that this step has been taken on the account of an official government, which is also being considered directly a diplomatic message.

According to Pakistan’s media reports, his government has criticized the decision and described it as “unilateral” and “against freedom of expression”. At the same time, there is a mixed response on this move on social media in India.

Significantly, the Government of Pakistan also blocked the X in its country in February this year, when the platform refused to follow some of their security guidelines.
