New official tick appeared on Twitter’s verified accounts in India


Micro blogging site Twitter has started showing a new tick badge with the word “official” on the verified accounts of news websites and major persons in India. Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Twitter account of Units 360 has got this tick. However, blue ticks indicating the verified of an account are also visible.

Last week, Twitter changed the method of blue tick indicating a reputed institute or individual to Twitter. This will now be given to all the people who subscribe to the company’s paid service Twitter Blue. The major changes made after takingover to the company of Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk included changing the method of Twitter Blue as well as raising the price for this service to about $ 8 per month. He also indicated that he wanted to increase this service in many countries including India and its price will be decided according to Pauchase Power in the special country.

Twitter Blue subscribers will also get priority in search results, reply threads and trending topics. Musk has excluded the company’s CEO, Parag Agarwal, CFO Ned Segal, General Counsel Scele Edgate and Legal Policy, Trust and Security Head Vijaya Gadde from the company after Twitter has acquired the control of Twitter. A major problem for Twitter has been moneting. Musk wants to solve this and discussion about some of his ideas has started on social media.

The Central Government is amending IT rules to make these platforms legally accountable to ban social media platforms in India and prevent wrong information. The government has made it clear that platforms like FB and Twitter operating in the country will have to take care of the constitutional authorities of users along with following the laws of the country. The new rules provide a provision to create a appellate committee, which can cancel the decisions of large tech companies on requests associated with removal or blocking content. Social media companies have been accused of negligence about content or not resolving complaints soon.
