Netflix’s distant ad-supported plan
According to a Bloomberg report, the video-streaming platform has discussed introducing a free plan in the Asian and European markets, where other free TV networks also have free plans. It is estimated that the plan will offer to see the content of Netflix for free, but with advertisements. Citing people familiar with the company’s planning, it has been reported in the report that the purpose of this step is to increase the users of video-streaming platform.
If this is true, this will not be the first time when Netflix will offer free video streaming. In 2021, a free plan for Android smartphone was introduced in Kenya. However, it was closed last year. The new ad -ported free plan can target users of Asia and Europe, but according to the latest report, Netflix has no plan to introduce this free category in the US. The company already offers an advertising plan in some areas, which is the most economical way to see Netflix and is priced at $ 6.99 (about 600 rupees) per month.
According to Netflix advertising president Amy Renhard, the advertising plan currently has 40 million active users at the global level, compared to 5 million users last year. In addition, the company claims that 40 percent of all of its sign-ups come from the ad -ported plan, in countries where it is available.
According to the report, in addition to acquiring more users, the new alleged free plan can also help in bringing more advertisements for video-store platforms.
