Honda: Honda saw the huge decline from year to year in October 2024, as its sales declined by 41%. In October 2023, the sales fell from 9,400 units to 5,546 units. Despite the festive demand, Honda faced the inventory issues and less new models, which reduced its market share to just 1.4%.
Kia: Kia faced a decline of 6.6% year after year. While the company sold a total of 22,753 units in October 2024, the figure was 24,351 units in October 2023. Its market share decreased to 5.7%. The reason for this may be a boom in competition due to good discounts in mid-range SUV by other brands and launch of new models. This is the segment where Kia leads often.
Skoda: Skoda declined by 10.7% on an annual basis, sales in October 2023 declined from 4,566 units to 4,079 units in October 2024. This decline in sales has come despite the improvement in monthly performance.
Jeep: Jeep’s annual performance saw a decline of 16.4%, the sales fell from 507 units in October 2023 to 424 units in this October. The brand has had to struggle to attract new buyers.
Maruti Suzuki: Even after being a market leader, Maruti Suzuki’s 5% annual decline surprises. This year the company has sold 1,59,591 units. Although Maruti has upheld the biggest market share, competition and inventory issues have seen an increase. The market share has now fallen from 43% to 40.1% in October 2023.

Kia: Kia faced a 3.3% MOM fall, selling 22,753 units in October 2024 in September 2024 compared to 23,523 units. With the market share falling up to 5.7%, this deficiency indicates the brand faces challenges in maintaining buyers.
Honda: Honda saw a decline of 2.3% MOM, sales in September 2024 declined from 5,678 units to 5,546 units in October 2024.
Citroen: Citroen’s MOM cells declined by 4.7%, which declined from 752 units in September 2024 to 717 units in October 2024. It seems that Citroen Basalt is facing difficulties in affecting customers.
Renault: The Renault saw a reduction of 1.3% MOM, which increased from 3,930 units in September 2024 to 3,870 units in October 2024.
Jeep: Despite the increase of 16.2% MOM, the jeep still remains in the list due to the lower sales number in total. Only 424 units were sold in October.
In October 2024, brands such as Honda, Kia and Maruti Suzuki recorded a major decline from year to year, reflecting India’s tremendous competition. Due to the boom in inventory, decrease in launch of new models and competition from brands introducing popular mid-range SUV models, these brands experienced a shocking decline in sales.
