Jio Celebrity, formed by the merger of Celebrity Bharat and Viacom18, has filed a new broadcast tariff, which suggests that the new packs will be costlier than the independent packs of both the companies. Additionally, the broadcaster has introduced 83 packs containing 134 channels, which include Star Plus, Colors, Star Gold and Star Sports. With exclusive cricket rights for IPL, ICC and BCCI events, Jio Celebrity certainly comes with a premium price tag. Recently Sony and Zee also increased the prices of their packs, with base bouquet prices increasing by more than 10%. However, the final tariffs of Jio Celebrity will depend on the negotiations between the broadcaster and the distributor.

Jio Celebrity has filed its reference interconnect offer (ROI). The document details the new tariff plans set by Jio Celebrity following the merger of Celebrity Bharat and Viacom18. This suggests that pack prices may increase with the new merger. For example, it has been decided to keep the price of Celebrity Price Collect (SVP) Hindi and SVP Hindi Ordinary packs at Rs 110, compared to the combined cost of Star India and Viacom18’s previous individual Hindi base packs at Rs 110, according to TOI. Jio Star will feature many popular channels in its pack, such as Star Plus, Colors, Star Gold and Star Sports.
