X has closed more than 100 accounts related to Hamas. The company was warned by the European Union. X’s CEO Linda Yacarino has confirmed that hundreds of accounts have been closed after the Israel-Hamas War and the content of several accounts has been blocked. These handles were associated with Hamas and spreading wrong information.
In a post, X’s CEO Linda Yarcarino wrote that in response to Hamas’s terrorist attack on Israel, we have redestibut the resources and focused on the internal teams which are working round the clock to deal with the situation.

Significantly, after the attack on Israel, many photos and videos on X were made viral. Some of them were extremely objectionable. Many videos were seen killing terrorists. The European Union was asked to take strict action on accounts sharing such videos. After this warning, a step was taken by X immediately. A fine or ban could be imposed on X for not taking steps.
