HP companies with Google to Form Chromebooks in Bharat, Results of Import Restrictions by means of Govt

HP, which makes devices such as personal computers and laptops, has partnered with technology company Google to make Chromebook laptops in India. Chromebooks will be built at the factory near Chennai in HP’s Tamil Nadu. The company has been manufacturing desktops and laptops for almost three years in this factory.

American devices maker Apple and South Korea’s Samsung are also increasing manufacturing in the country, ‘Make in India’ is being promoted by the central government. Because of this, many global technology companies are setting up their units in the country or the possibility of partnership with Indian companies is being searched. “Manufacturing Chromebooks in the country will be able to provide affordable PC to students in the country. We will continue to support the government’s efforts related to Make in India,” said Vickram Bedi said, “We will continue to support the efforts related to Make in India,” said Vickram Bedi said. In this regard, Google’s Head of Education (South Asia), Bani Dhawan said, “Manufacturing of Chromebooks with HP is a significant turn in our attempt to make major digital changes of education in the country.”

Samsung has also prepared to increase manufacturing in India. The company’s smartphones are already being produced in the country. Samsung can also build laptops in its factory in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh from next month. This will promote the Central Government’s Make in India Scheme. Under this scheme, incentives are given for electronics manufacturing.

According to a media report, Samsung has prepared to set up a new laptop manufacturing unit in the Greater Noida factory producing smartphones. The unit will have a capacity to build an annual 60,000-70,000 laptops. This unit will start next month. Last month, the government implemented licensing for import of personal computers, laptops and tablets. Its purpose is to increase manufacturing in the country. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar had said that the new rule would ensure the use of reliable systems and products in the country. Apple, a American company, which has a large stake in the premium smartphone market, is preparing to increase manufacturing in India.
