Uploading on youtube, apply subtitles to the video
A computer or laptop will be needed to add subtitles to the video using the YouTube Studio app.
First open the YouTube studio and login to your channel.
Click on the upload video icon and start uploading your video.
During the upload process, you have to go through many sections like details, rights management etc.
When you come on the video element, you will see the option of ad subtitle. Under it, click on the ad and you will see three options- upload files, auto-links and type manually.
Upload file: If you have a file that has an accurate script used in the video, then you can choose with timing option. On the other hand, if you have a text that you need to sync with what you are saying in the video, then you can choose the Vidout Timing Option. YouTube will automatically sink the subtitle according to your video.
Auto-link: You can copy and paste your caption, then YouTube will auto-sink them according to your video.
Type manually: With this option you can type subtitle manually while watching the video.
After this is complete, you have to check subtitle and introduce your video. You can also change time by editing the timestamp. Then preview the final video with subtitle and if you see any mistake then re -edit the text. Now your video will be subtitled and when it is published on YouTube, you will be able to see the subtitle written just below it and your audience can choose to see the subtitle according to your choice.
Apply subtitles to YouTube video already uploaded
If you are a login in your YouTube channel, click on the profile photo icon on the top right and then go to your channel. Click on the Manage Video and open the video in which you want to add subtitled.
Now scroll down and click on subtitle to the right.
If youtube has automatically transcript your video, then you can edit these captions. But the biggest drawback in this is that it takes a long time to edit this text. Apart from this, click on three dots right next to edit timing and select the clear text option. Now you will have two options. Type the subtitle of the first manually video or select the upload file option by clicking on three dots. You can choose any option of your choice.
If you do not see an automatic caption by clicking on the subtitle option, then you will get 3 options- upload files, auto-skin and type manually. For this, you can follow Step 2 of the previous guide how to use these options. After completion, check the subtitle and mix them with your video. You can also change time by editing the timestamp. Then perform the final video preview with subtitle and if you see the mistake, then edit the text again. Now the subtle must have come in your video and when it will be published on YouTube, you will be able to see subtitle written just below it and your audience will be able to see the subtitle according to your choice.
