The initial 6 digits of the Aadhaar number will be given
Google has said that the new Aadhaar based system has been designed to authenticate users, so that people can sign-up for UPI without debit card. In order to start the Athontication, users will have to give the first 6 digits of their Aadhaar number (digit). The company says that these marks are sent to UIDAI through National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
It is necessary to have a link to bank account and Aadhaar number
NPCI’s website states that in the present time 22 banks support users’ eminence through Aadhaar. Google says that she hopes that more and more banks will add this support. While activating UPI through Aadhaar, users have to ensure that their bank account and Aadhaar number are links.
Google said- do not store Aadhaar number
To register for UPI on Google Pay, the user will have to use the same number as a registered with his bank and UIDAI. This number should be common. Google has said that users’ Aadhaar numbers are shared only with NPCI. The company does not store them.
Setup will be completed after entering OTP
After sharing the opening 6 points of the mobile number and Aadhaar number, users will get one-time password (OTP) from their bank and UIDAI. After registering those OTPs, the process of Athontication will be completed. After this, users will be able to set their UPI PIN and then send and receive money from Google Pay.
