Hackers attack on Twitter, email address leaked of 200 million users


Hackers are constantly attacking on microblogging site Twitter Twitter. This time hackers have posted an email address of more than 200 million Twitter users and posted on a hacking forum. There are no indications about the identity or location of hackers. The case may be the case before Billionaire Elon Musk took over the company at the end of the previous year.

The co-founder of Israeli cyber security monitoring firm Hudson Rock, Alon Gal, while giving this information on LinkedIn, has said that it will increase hacking and fishing cases. He described it as one of the big leaks. Gal first posted on social media on 24 December about this hacking. Twitter has not commented on this report. It is not known whether Twitter has taken any action to investigate or resolve it. Reuters could not confirm whether the data posted on the hacking forum is real or not. Screenshots are circulated online from this hacking forum.

Regulators can take steps on any major theft of data in Twitter. Twitter’s European headquarters are in Ireland. Data Proteksham Commission in Ireland and Federal Trade Commission of America are monitoring Twitter for following data protection rules. At the end of last month, there was a report of stealing data of about 40 million users of Twitter and putting it on the dark web for sale. This is one of the big cases of data leaking in Twitter. The hacker has given a sample to give proof of the real data being real. It includes the name, email, number of followers and phone numbers in some cases. It also includes the user data of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

Last month, Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC) announced an inquiry into the case of data leaking of more than 5.4 crore users of Twitter. According to a media report, in the current case of data leaks, the hacker has stolen the data on some high profile people as well as the US space agency NASA and the World Health Organization (WHO).
