Hyderabad youngster Abhishek Sharma reached the milestone of 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League on Sunday, 30 March while batting against Gujarat at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Abhishek scored a quickfire 29 runs off 20 balls, which included 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Abhishek took the attack to Gujarat’s premier spinner Rashid Khan and hit him for big shots. The batter’s innings was however, shortlived as the he was dismissed by Mohit Sharma in the 10th over of the game.

Abhishek has turned out to be one of the main batters for Hyderabad since his debut in 2018. The left-hander is being mentored by Yuvraj Singh in the off season and that has shown in his capability to hit six at will. The batter has also captained Punjab in the domestic circuit and is expected to be a big name in the future.
