Raj Kundra files for discharge in pornography case, prosecution opposes his request – Exclusive – Times of India

Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra was embroiled in a controversy last year when he was named as one of the key accused in a pornography case. Now, the prosecution has filed a reply opposing the discharge application filed by Kundra in the ongoing case. ETimes has learnt that the prosecution has opposed the discharge application stating that there is a prima facie case made out against Kundra and there is enough evidence to show it.

Reacting to the reply filed by the prosecution, Kundra’s lawyer Prashant Patil told ETimes, “We are ready to argue the case on merit, though there is a Prima Facie case that has been made out. We have full faith in the judiciary and the truth shall come out.” Patil maintained that despite the Prima Facie case, there is no evidence against Kundra and that they will argue this case in court based on solid facts.

Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai police last year and was able to secure bail after having spent two months in custody. Now, he has filed for a discharge after the Mumbai police filed a chargesheet in the case. Incidentally, today is Raj Kundra’s birthday and this morning, Shilpa had shared her birthday wishes for her hubby on social media. She mentioned about more ‘health and protection’ for her husband.
