Elon Musk’s attitude became soft, restored twitter account of journalists

Elon Musk, Chief Executive of Microblogging Site Twitter, has restored Twitter accounts of journalists who were suspended last week due to reports about Musk. Musk had conducted a poll on Twitter to restore the accounts of journalists in which most users voted in favor of restoring these accounts.

The question sent by Reuters about this has not been answered from Twitter. The High Commissioner, Volker Turk, has welcomed the restoration of the Twitter account of journalists for the United Nations human rights. However, with this, Volker said that his apprehensions remained intact. He said, “It is the responsibility of respecting Twitter’s human rights. Alan Musk should be committed to publicly available policy -based decisions. This includes free speech.”

The United Nations and European Union (EU) also objected to the blocking of journalists on Twitter. Twitter changed its policy last week, saying that during human efforts or public programs, a person’s location would be removed by the accounts or tweets doing so in addition to share. United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres expressed concern over suspending journalists from Twitter and described it as a dangerous example. EU warned of imposing restrictions on Twitter.

EU had said that restrictions can be imposed on Twitter in the upcoming media law. EU’s commissioner Vera Jourova tweeted, “It is worrying to be suspended on Twitter unilaterally on Twitter. EU’s Digital Services Act needs to respect media freedom and fundamental rights. It has been repeated in our Media Freedom Act. Allen Musk must be aware of it soon.” Twitter had banned the account of many journalists who used to give reports related to Musk. These included journalists from Washington Put Up, The Unutilized York Instructions, Mashable, CNN and Substack. The tweets of these journalists were also removed.
