The Belgian police have released a statement on their website and reported that the Joker virus has been found in 8 apps on Google Play Games Gather. These are the same 8 apps, which were detected by the researchers of Security Labs Fast Heal in June this year. The groom’s search giant had also removed them from Google Play to complain to Google. However, if these apps still have an installed in a device, it needs to be removed immediately.
The police have warned the users to remove these 8 apps from their mobile phones as soon as possible. These include Auxiliary Message, Component Scanner, Speedy MAIC SMS, Sovereign CamScanner, Progress Messages, Treminary Message, Treminary Message, Tremined SMS and Go Wallpapers app. Users who still run these apps can become a victim of ‘Joker’ virus.
The ‘Joker’ virus was first revealed in 2017. According to Quick Hill, Joker viruses, SMS, contact, device information as well as extremely sensitive information like OTP. This virus can get access to payment service and withdraw money from users’ bank account or credit card.
