Challenge to FB and Twitter, Donald Trump’s social media app will be launched on 21 February

Former US President Donald Trump is going to launch his social media app. According to the Apple App Store Listing, Trump’s new media venture plans to launch the social media app ‘Truth Social’ on 21 February. According to Reuters, ‘Truth Social’ is being brought as an option of Twitter. It will be a part of Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG). It will be lived live on US President’s Day. However, it has been available for free-order.

According to the demo photo of the app, like Twitter, people and trending topics can be followed in this app too. Significantly, the US Capital was attacked by Trump supporters on 6 January 2021, claiming fraud in the 2020 US Presidential elections. Donald Trump was accused that he encouraged his supporters to participate in the attack. After this, Twitter and Facebook banned Donald Trump on their platform. 13 months after this incident, Donald Trump is bringing his social media app.

On the completion of one year of the attack on the US Capital, the US President, Joe Biden, targeted Trump on Thursday, saying that his predecessor’s false claims could affect future elections.
Trump’s media ventures TMTG and Apple did not respond to the request of the comment to the Reuters. But a source associated with the case has confirmed that the launch of the app has been planned on 21 February.

With the launch of the app, the first phase of TMTG development is expected to be completed. According to the company’s website, a video-on-demand service will be launched soon by focusing on entertainment, news and podcasts. It will be subscribed. There are also reports that TMTG also wants to launch a podcast network. TMTG has a value of $ 5.3 billion (about Rs 39,430 crore) based on the stock price of Digital World Acquisition. This has increased by 20 percent after the news listing of the app on the app store by Reuters.
