‘Bharat seems to be admirable from Dimension’, Says Nasa Astronaut Sunita Williams, ISRO

Astronaut Sunita Williams of American Space Agency NASA has reported that India looks ‘spectacular’ from space. Williams of Indian origin also expressed a desire to come to India to share their experiences of space exploration. Last month, Williams returned to Earth after a mission of about nine months at the International Space Station (ISS).

Williams (59 years old) told a press conference, “India looks great. It was fantastic every time we go over the Himalayas. We have some excellent pictures of the Himalayas.” Butch Wilmore ISS was also present with him. Both these Astronauts have returned to the earth through Billionaire Elon Musk’s rocket company Spacex’s Group-10 mission. Nick Hague with them and cosmonott Aleksandr Gorbunov of Russia’s Space Agency Roscosmos also landed on the sea of Tallahassee in California, USA via Spacex’s dragon spacecraft on 18 March.

Regarding seeing India from space, Williams said, “When you come from the east and go to Gujarat and Mumbai, you see fishermen fleet in the sea. In the whole of India, I saw that the network of lights in big cities is going down to small towns. It is fantastic to see India at night as well as night.” He also showed enthusiasm about coming to India.

In June last year, Williams and Wilmore went to ISS on a few days of mission. However, they were trapped due to technical problems in spacecraft. Williams and Willmore could not return due to the technical problem in Boeing’s Starliner Spacecraft. Starlineer Spacecraft was finding it difficult to reach ISS. The leak of helium from this spacecraft was a very difficult. ISS was commanded by Astronaut Oleg Kononenko of Russia to Williams. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) had said that such challenges in space missions would be important for the country’s ambitious Gaganyaan mission. The next year is a plan to launch India’s Chandrayaan-4. This will be an important step in the country’s space exploration efforts. The purpose of this mission will be to bring the sample back from the moon to the earth.
