Bajaj Auto, one of the big two-wheeler companies, has launched the new electric scooter Chetak 3001. It is built on a new EV architecture with a 3.0 kwh battery on the floor. This helps in reducing the center of gravity of this electric scooter. With this, more space is also available as stability increases.

The price of Chetak 3001 is Rs 99,990 (ex-showroom). Its certified range is about 127 km. With this, Bajaj Auto has offered a 750 W charger. From this charger, the battery of Chetak 3001 can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in about 3.50 hours. It is included in the earliest charging electric scooters in this segment. Chetak 3001 also has the option of TeCPAC technology. It is the only electric scooter with a metal body in its segment. It will soon be made available for shopping through e-commerce site Amazon.

The company’s Chetak 35 series received good response from customers. Earlier, Chetak 3501 and 3502 were introduced in this series. With this series of electric scooters, Bajaj Auto has given a tough fight to Ola Electrical and TVS Motor. Recently, Bajaj Auto introduced Chetak 3503. This electric scooter has the same design as Chetak 35 series and a battery pack of 3.5 kwh. The range of its single charge is about 151 kilometers. Its top speed is 63 kmph. This electric scooter has features such as LCD clusters, Eco and Sports Ride Modes and LED headlights with Bluetooth.

Last month, the electric scooters sold more than one lakh units for the first time in the market. In May, 1,00,345 units have been sold in this market. This is an increase of about 9.32 percent as compared to April. In April, 91,791 units of electric two-wheelers were sold. Last month, TVS Motor has secured first place in the segment of electric two-wheelers. TVS Motor sold 24,572 units in May. Bajaj Auto is second in this market. In May, the company sold 21,812 units.
