The report of Reuters quoted the CCI’s internal order that the request from Apple to stop the report of the investigation has been found to be wrong. The investigation against Apple was initiated about four years ago. It was allegedly related to misuse of the dominated situation in the company’s apps market. Apple was alleged to have obliged developers to use his properly in-app purchasing system due to their strong position in the apps market. For this, developers had to pay up to 30 percent fees. In August this year, the CCI on the company’s request asked all its rivers to return the report of this investigation. However, it was not mentioned in this order about which confidential information Apple is worried about. A source who has been aware of the case had said that Apple was concerned about the revelations of the revenue and market share figures of his app store in the country. Reuters reported in July that two reports given by the CCI’s Investigation Unit in 2022 and 2024 found that Apple had misused his dominated status in the app stores market on his iOS operating system.
The firms whom CCI had asked to return the report included the startup group AdIF, a startup group Adif, representing Paytm related to FIT and Financial Services, running the dating app. Apple had said in a complaint to CCI that the report shared with its rivers in this case revealed confidential information related to the company’s business. Because of this, this report should be recalled.
