This claim has been revealed from the Weibo post of China’s popular tipster Virtual Chat Station (Name translated from Chinese language), which states that Apple is trying this high-employment sensor as a primary camera. If this happens, it will be the largest jump ever in the iPhone camera system. At present, Apple uses 48MP sensor in its professional models.
It is believed that 200MP sensor will provide users a photo of details, better digital zoom and advanced AI processing. However, some common challenges are also associated with such sensors, such as performance in low light, large file size and processing lag. This is the reason that Apple finalizes every new hardware only after software optimization.
Brands like Samsung, Motorola and Xiaomi have already used 200MP sensors, but Apple was far from this race. If this report is proved correct, then in the coming time the iPhone camera can once again become the focus of the entire industry.
