Vivo won the shipment
The Indian smartphone shipment fell 4 percent to 37.2 million units in the fourth quarter of 2024, new research by Canalis showed that the vendors adjusted the inventory after the festive season. The Vivo remains at the first position with 7.5 million units and 20 percent market share. Xiaomi finished second with 5.7 million units, while Samsung finished third with 5.4 million units. Oppo joined the top 5 at number four with 4.2 million and Apple 4 million units of shipping. For the first time, Apple finished fifth.
Apple is on top in market value
The iPhone manufacturer Apple has led the market in 2024 with a 23 percent stake in the smartphone market, which is a downfall in 2023 by a 24 percent stake. The second place is with the Samsung 22 percent stake, which has grown from 21% to 1 percent as compared to the previous year. Vivo achieved a third position with 16% percent. Oppo was number four with 14% percent sales and Xiaomi came at the fifth Payadan with 9 percent.
If we talk about the whole year, India’s smartphone market increased by 5 percent in 2024. The market reached 155.9 million shipments with a rapid increase in 5G upgrade. Senior Analyst Sanyam Chaurasia of Canalys said that “Apple has joined the top 5 in the Indian smartphone market for the first time with continuous attention to improving and upgrading its ecosystem.”
