Internet search engine Google has faced difficulties of disputes in India for the last few months. Shark Tank India Judge and businessman Anupam Mittal termed Google’s billing system as “illegal” and described Alphabet as ‘Digital East India Company’. He said that Google has violated the laws of the country.

Along with this, Mittal hoped that the issue will be given attention by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He tweeted, “A call has come from Google in which his payments are compulsory for Indian developers. It is a violation of Indian laws. I hope that ‘PMO’ will pay attention to it. It is a digital East India Company.” Recently there was a change in the policy by Google. Service fees will also have to be paid on selecting Google’s alternative billing system but it will be four percent less than the standard fees.

Google was earlier accused of violating the Competition Commission of India (CCI) order and charging up to 11-26 percent from the app developers who selected the alternative billing system. The Alliance of Digital India Foundation (ADIF) had requested authorities including CCI to look into the matter and ensure that Google fully follow the order.

Policy think tank Adifif, a policy think tank associated with digital startups, said in a statement, “Recently, Google has changed the way of billing for app developers. The company has said that if a user pays through alternative billing system, the service fee of Google Play will decrease four percent. It will also reduce the Service of Google Play will be reduced by four percent. Will have to happen. ” AdIF said that Google is completely violating the CCI order. The CCI had directed the company that it should not impose any condition on the app developers that are inappropriate or discriminated against. No reason for this has been given as to why the company is taking 11-26 percent commission even after using the user’s third-party processing service.
