Many Google Pixel phones Users Has seen a new “satellite SOS” option in Safety and Emergency Options in the Setting App. It appears between emergency SOS and car crash detection options. However, tapping on the satellite SOS feature does not cause anything at the moment. Gadgets360 was able to see this new option on Google Pixel 8.
It seems that the new version of the Adaptive Connectivity Services App (P.2024.08) has added support for a new facility. Satellite tv for PC SOS functionality pixel will allow users to send messages to emergency services on satellite if unable to connect to cellular connections or Wi-Fi. This will help users to send their location or status through Google Maps when natural disasters and forest are lost.
As reported by 9to5google, the disclaimer of the satellite SOS feature states that when you join emergency services through satellite, your name, email, phone number, location, device information and emergency contact emergency services and Satellite will be shared with service providers. The screen related to the satellite SOS feature allegedly includes links to the Garmin Search and Rescue Insurance Plan. There is also a list of allegedly supported countries.
Although the satellite indicates the details “Your Pixel” on the SOS page, it is expected that Google will roll out the upcoming feature on other major android devices.
