Whatsapp to get unused favorite tab to upload contacts to velocity dial for android

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to add, re-order and remove contacts to a specific order. The favorite feature was seen in the new beta version of WhatsApp for Android. It is expected that it will allow users to set up speed dial to the contact for easy access. This feature is not visible in the present, so beta testers will not be able to use it, but it is expected to be available in the upcoming update.

The new feature information was given by WhatsApp feature tracker wabetainfo, claiming that the instant messaging platform settings are working on integrating a favorite tab inside the Settings menu. This feature was seen in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.7.18 update. Despite being present inside the code of the app, it is not visible and users who joined the beta program will not be able to see it. The report has emphasized that this feature has not been traced due to similar restrictions at present.

The new setting was present between the option account and the price option based on the screenshot shared by the publication. A new option of favorite is now seen with add, re-order and removal details. On opening the setting, a new screen states that those people and groups have been made on WhatsApp. Although not much has been mentioned about this feature, it seems that users will be able to add their favorite contact to create an interface like speed-dial, where they can send messages to those people immediately.

However, if this feature depends on the will of the user, it can be unnecessary for many users. Depending on the screenshot, this feature is hidden under two different screens (Home Screen> Settings> Favorite), which will make it difficult to use. The current interface of the instant messaging app automatically holds the chat where the messages were recently shared.

Apart from this, users also have the option to pin the chat on the top for easy access. The current mechanism and feature are ready to maintain both favorite contact and most frequently interacted contacts. It may also be necessary for users who want to keep a separate list of contacts that they do not reach again and again but are easy access for some cases. If WhatsApp rolls out this feature, then more information can be revealed on it.
