What’s Lightless Moon Brandnew Moon shall be percepti for the second one presen in December

The year 2024 is going to end with extremely interesting astronomical phenomenon. Its name is Lightless Moon. The word like Black Moon has not been recognized in astronomy, but in recent years it has gained popularity among amateur astronomers and people tracking the events in the sky. According to the NDTV report, the word Black Moon is used when another new moon is seen in a calendar month. Explain in easy language, there was Amavasya on 30 November, after which the new moon started appearing on 1 December. Now today, on December 30, there is Amavasya, after which the new moon will be seen from 31 December. In this way, this will be the second new moon in the month of December.

According to the US Naval Observatory, the incident of Black Moon will be seen at different times in every country. In India, it can be seen around 3:57 am in the early hours of 31 December.

According to the report, Amavasya occurs when the Sun and Moon are on the same celestial longitude. During this time, the glowing part of the moon is away from the earth and is not visible with the naked eyes. Because the Moon’s cycle is 29.5 days on an average, there can be two Amavasya sometimes in a month.

The moon may not be seen in the incident of black moon, but this increases the chances of seeing the other objections in the sky. Wires, planets and remote galaxies can be spotted by going into dense dark areas. If you have good telescope, then during black moon you can see planets like Brihaspati and Venus.

In other news related to the moon, scientists are working on creating a different time zone for the moon. The US has given its responsibility to develop its space agency NASA to develop a universal standard time for the Moon and other astronomical bodies. The proposed Coordinated Lunar Time (LTC) aims to help and increase the efficiency. White House has given NASA a deadline till 2026 to complete this work.
