Tata Nano starts for 1 lakh rupees
There are many businessmen in the country, but the visionary like Ratan Tata remained less. He did not just do business but took off the products keeping in mind the needs of the people. Ratan Tata wanted every middle -class family to have a car in India and in 2009, he introduced Tata Nono as the cheapest car in the country. Ratan Tata was the only Ratan Tata to bring the car for 1 lakh rupees. In 2008, Ratan Tata introduced Nano for the first time at the Auto Expo in India. However, due to the tag of the cheap car, it could not make that much popularity among the people, due to which the production of Nano had to be discontinued in 2018 itself.
Tata Nexon bring revolution in the electric segment in the country
Tata Motors launched the Tata Nexon Ev as the first electric car in January 2020, which pushed electric mobility in India. And motivated automobile companies to make affordable electric cars for India. Tata Nexon EV is India’s best -selling electric car (EV) since its launch. Tata Nexon EV is economical and safe than other electric cars, due to which it was well liked.
Acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover
There was a time when Ratan Tata Motors was going through a crisis, Ratan Tata wanted to sell the passenger car unit, for which he went to Ford. Bill Ford allegedly told Ratan Tata that when he did not know anything about the car, why did it start the business. He will purchase this business and favor Tata Motors. At that time Ratan Tata changed the decision to sell passenger car business and established it as a beneficial business. But time changes and at one time Ford was going through his financial crisis and it became difficult for him to handle both brands such as Jaguar and Land Rover. Tata Motors then bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor in March 2008. The acquisition was a major step for Tata Motors as the company entered the international luxury car market. The deal was done for about 2.3 billion US dollars.
Building of salt to semi conductor
