Tiktok Cuts Loads of Jobs Secause of Shift for Ai Content Material Moderation, Bytedance, FB, Google


Hundreds of workers are being trimmed in the bytedance running the social media platform Tiktok. This includes a large number of workers of this firm in Malaysia. It has increased the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in content moderation and due to this it has taken this step.

Two sources who are aware of the case told Reuters that more than 700 workers of Bytedance are being removed in Malaysia. However, later bytedance clarified that it would affect less than 500 workers. Most of these workers were associated with the content moderation of this firm. They have been informed by email of their termination. Reuters have confirmed the pruning by bytedance in response to questions. It said that hundreds of workers can be removed to improve the process of their moderation. Bytedance has more than 1.10 lakh workers in more than 200 cities in several countries.

A few months ago, in the US election in the US, the candidate Donald Trump said that the short video app Tiktok threatened national security. However, along with this, he said that by banning it, some children will get a shock and this will benefit Meta’s social media platform FB.

About 17 million people use tickets in the US. Earlier, Trump condemned Facebook and Instagram for removing his posts during the riots in the US three years ago. However, Trump’s social media accounts were restored last year. Due to the risk of the country’s security, the central government banned about 60 apps related to China three years ago. These apps included tickets. Prior to the ban, tickets were estimated to have about 200 million users in the country. Tickets have also been accused of promoting wrong content. Being connected with China, tickets are facing difficulties in many countries. Earlier it was banned for government employees in the US. This app is quite popular in many countries.
